Jacuzzi is a convergence of Amsterdam-based choreographers, who act as a fluid support structure for each other and a host body for a multitude of movement practices and performance related events. At Jacuzzi we gather in order to share, reflect, problematise and imagine new conditions for art production in order to practice and celebrate our enthusiasm for the importance of dance.
At our shared studio we de-habitualise, lie down, sweat, meditate, mediate the electrical signals of our nervous systems, process rhythms. We are bodies whose ideas are voiced in several tones and articulations. With a desire to build different modes of being and experiencing time together and differently. We are questions approached though bodies not answered by them.
Jacuzzi is currently Matthew Day, Tomislav Feller, Setareh Fatehi, Noha Ramadan, Michele Rizzo, Clara Saito, Charlie Laban Trier, Sigrid Stigsdatter Mathiassen, Eva Susova, and Elisa Zuppini.
A new platform/dance studio in Copenhagen for intersectional practices, work and performance organised by professional artists.
We dream of a space vibrating between being a work studio, a performance venue and a collaborative political voice. We dream of a space that is transformable in relation to the ways we want to work with structures of performing arts. Where immaterial craft can leave traces, stay visible and give birth to a new environment to the local scene in Copenhagen. We dream of a space that has capacities of containing versatile ways of working as the versatile artists we are. A space that foremost functions as a work space with a studio to invest and a stage to share. A space that frequently transforms into being a venue for performances, and a host for other artists and activists to hold workshops, debates or curate events etc.
